The excellent cycleway out of Banff.
The excellent cycleway out of Banff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day off in Banff. This morning, we woke up to light rain and cooler temperatures. However, since we only had a 15-mile ride ahead to Canmore, we decided to wait for the rain to stop before setting off. The ride to Canmore was a fast and easy glide, all downhill, on an excellent cycleway. It took us through the remaining part of Banff National Park, and despite the overcast weather, it was a beautiful journey.

Throughout the ride, I reflected on the natural beauty around us and felt grateful for the opportunity to cycle through national parks in Canada, the United States, and Patagonia over the past year. I appreciate the park systems we’ve experienced and the evident care and attention dedicated to investing in, protecting, and maintaining these precious public lands.

Today is our anniversary, marking the second year in a row that we are celebrating it while traveling on our bikes. I am thankful that together, we have discovered joy and passion in traveling at a bike’s pace. Happy Anniversary, Molly!

Next stop, Calgary!

Until tomorrow
